AN IMITATION CINNABAR LACQUER AND FAUX GILT-
SPLASHED BRONZE PORCELAIN BUMPA ’LONGEVITY‘ VASE
19TH CENTURY
The baluster vase is modelled with shou-roundels and cloud scrolls on a
classic scroll ground to resemble cinnabar lacquer. It is surmounted by a
tall neck decorated to resemble gilt-splashed bronze, all terminating in
a simulated cinnabar lacquer upper section. The base is painted with an
apocryphal Qianlong mark.
