CATALOGUE NOTE
The bowl is raised from a single sheet of metal and the surfaces are damascened with a design of shou characters set
against a floral background. The box is tailor made to provide protection for a porcelain bowl now missing and the
interior of the box was once softly padded. It is likely that the design on the outside of the box matched the design of
the porcelain bowl it once contained.
