A SMALL WHITE JADE ‘BUTTERFLY
AND MELON’ WATER POT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The water pot is carved in the form of a lobed melon
hollowed at the well, surmounted by a butterfly at the
top. The semi-translucent stone is of an even white
tone.

A PIERCED JADEITE ‘PRAYING
MANTIS’ PENDANT
The plaque is carved and pierced on one side with a
praying mantis pursuing a cicada amidst flowers, the
other side with two birds perched on bamboo stems,
set with a silver mount surmounted by another praying
mantis. The stone ranges from a brilliant apple-green
tone to a milky whitish-green colour.

Laboratory Limited confirms the present lot is natural green
jadeite.
