TWO JADEITE SEALS
Comprised of an oval seal surmounted by a finial in
the form of a boy and lion at play with a brocade ball;
and a square seal with a finial in the form of a monkey
and peach; both of a translucent greenish-white tone,
with concentrated areas of bright apple-green. The
seal faces are carved with inscriptions.

A YELLOW JADE PLAQUE
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
The rectangular plaque is carved in low
relief on one side with a scholar on an
embankment greeting another scholar
approaching on a boat, the other side with
a poetic inscription. The stone is of a ‘ginko
nut’ pale yellow colour with minor mottling.
