DISH
QING DYNASTY, EARLY 18TH
CENTURY
the rounded sides rising from a straight foot,
the interior crisply molded with a spray of
leafing and blossoming chrysanthemum in
the center, the cavetto divided into six petal-
shaped sections unified by a continuous
floriform border decorated with classic scroll,
each section molded with further floral sprays
including peony, lotus, and aster, covered
overall in an ivory-colored glaze
Diameter 7½ in., 19 cm
PROVENANCE
Collection of stephen Junkunc, III (d. 1978).
an 18th century imitation ‘Ding’ bowl incised
with a freely carved floral design to the interior,
formerly in the samuel t. peters Collection,
sold at Christie’s new York, 16th-17th
september 2010, lot 1394.

A ‘DEHUA’ BEAKER VASE
17TH CENTURY
the tall cylindrical body rising from a spreading
foot to a trumpet mouth, with a rounded central
section incised with a floral spray between
four thin molded fillets, the fine white body
covered in a warm ivory glaze, the recessed
base similarly glazed, the interior and footring
unglazed
height 8½ in., 21.6 cm
