               A partially-gilt bronze incense burner and cover,

               The rectangular incense burner raised on four curving legs, each side
               cast and gilt with a lobed panel containing flowers and birds and one
               also with a Buddhist lion, each side divided by a column of flanges
               at each corner and the two shorter sides each fitted with a flaring
               handle, all below a separately cast rim with bands of lappets and a
               leiwen ground, the reticulated gilt cover surmounted by a Buddhist
               lion finial, 21cm (8 1/4in) high; the vase cast and gilded with two
               lobed cartouches each containing a Buddhist lion below flowering
               prunus branches and magpies, all surrounded by incised and gilt
               foliate lotus scrolls on the body and flaring neck, the underside gilded
               and set with a single chrysanthemum blossom, 22.8cm (9in) high. (6)

               An unusual reticulated bronze brushpot
               18th/19th century
               The gilt bronze core covered with a reticulated outer layer cast
               with three cranes in flight amid intricate cloud scrolls, all between
               decorative bands containing foaming waves at the foot and keyfret at
               the rim.
