A SIX-PANEL ‘COROMANDEL’ LACQUER SCREEN
19th century
One side carved and coloured to depict a panorama scene across
the six panels comprising a watery landscape filled with clouds and
garden verandas depicting the Eight Immortals and other deities
variously placed across the landscape within a floral border, the
reverse side depicting a ladies within a court garden engaged in
various leisure activities, within a border of phoenixes.
186cm (73 1/4in) high x 261cm (102 3/4in) wide overall (6).
