           SEVEN SMALL ARCHAISTIC JADE AND HARDSTONE
           CARVINGS
           Late Qing Dynasty
           The axe-form pendant of rounded triangular form and bulging convex
           on the wide sides, the tip perforated, the cutting edge curved and
           beveled on both sides, the mottled green stone stained black in areas;
           the short cong of square sides and circular mouth rims, the celadon
           stone stained black in areas; the bi disc with pitted surface degraded
           to a cream color; the slender cong decorated with four rows of double
           panels incised with strips and circles, divided by a band at the waist,
           finished on each end with a short circular neck and a band of three
           ridges, the gray stone stained black in areas; the cylindrical bead
           carved with two chi dragons over reduced ground within line borders,
           the stone stained black; two small ‘dragon head’ pendants each of
           crescent shape and drilled through the mouth for stringing, the green
           stone stained brown in areas. (7)
           Axe: 2 5/8in (6.7cm) long;
           Short cong: 1 3/4in (4.4cm) square;
           Bi disc: 2in (5cm) diam;
           Slender cong: 2 3/8in (6cm) long;
           Cylindrical bead: 1 5/16in (3.3cm) long;
           ‘Dragon head’ pendants: 1 1/4in (3.2cm) long each

           The slender jade cong in the present lot compares closely to the jade
           cong from the George Eumorfopoulos Collection, donated to the
           British Museum in 1938 and illustrated on the museum’s website,
           registration number 1938.0524.191, attributed to Qing dynasty, 18th-
           19th century.
