FIVE ARCHAISTIC JADE ‘CICADA’ ORNAMENTS
Late Qing Dynasty
Each drilled with a channel at the mouth for stringing, one of elongated
form and pointy tail, a crescent-shaped line on the back behind the
large protruding eyes, the underside flat, the stone stained black
and degraded in areas; one of elongated rectangular form with large
protruding eyes, the underside with shallow lines to depict the legs
and body, the reddish-brown stone stained black in areas; one of
short rectangular shape with large bulging eyes, the light celadon
stone stained black in areas; one of rectangular shape and carved with
simple lines, the underside flat, the celadon stone stained black and
russet-brown; one of flattened form and carved in shallow relief, the
pitted stone stained black. (5)

FOUR ARCHAISTIC JADE SWORD GUARDS
Late Qing Dynasty
Of chevron shape, the smaller two decorated with simple lines and
each drilled with an aperture at the center, the larger two decorated
with animal masks and a chi dragon within line borders and each with
a slit opening at the center, the celadon and white stones tinted black
and russet in areas. (4)
