A LARGE NEOLITHIC PAINTED POTTERY JAR
Possibly Xindian culture, Gansu or Qinghai province
Decorated with large half-circle streaks on the sloping shoulder above a
band of horizontal lines, the straight neck decorated with three registers
of bands below rolled mouth rim, the body with a pair of loop handles
tapering down to a small flat foot, the beige clay slightly burnished with
few remains of encrusted earth.

A NEOLITHIC PAINTED POTTERY ‘TWIN FISH’ SHALLOW BOWL
Majiayao culture
Freely painted in dark brown with a pair of fish at the center, encircling
by four triangular ‘fishnet’ panels, the rolled rim decorated with the same
design, the exterior decorated with wave-shaped lines and dots, the
beige pottery burnished and slightly degraded.
