A red overlay ‘snowflake’ glass snuff bottle

Well-hollowed, of slender ovoid form with a waisted neck, flat lip, oval
36 | BONHAMS foot ring, masterfully carved through the layer of translucent red overlay,
depicting two fierce-looking dragons pursuing a flaming pearl above
crashing waves, the details carefully defined with finely incised lines.

A red overlay ‘snowflake’ glass snuff bottle

Very well-hollowed, of compressed globular form with slightly sloping
shoulders, waisted neck, flat lip, oval foot ring, the dense bubble-
suffused ground applied with cranberry-red overlay, carved to each of
its main sides with a carp leaping through breaking waves and breathing
out cloud-form vapor supporting either a pavilion or a stack of books,
the narrow sides with soaring celestial mountain peaks issuing pine and
lingzhi of immortality, with an auspicious crane and a bat in flight.
