A double-overlay ‘snowflake’ glass snuff bottle
1044 1780-1850
Of compressed ovoid form with a waisted neck, flat lip, overlaid
38 | BONHAMS with layers of white and black, carved around the oval foot ring with
jagged and perforated rocks, one side further decorated with magpies
and a blooming prunus tree, the reverse with pine, deer, and crane,
signifying happiness and longevity respectively.

glass snuff bottle
Imperial, Palace Workshops, Beijing, 1750-1800
Well-hollowed, of flattened rounded form, flat lip, well finished oval
foot ring, the bubble-suffused clear glass accented with dappling of
sparkling gold, sky-blue, red, and off-white coloration.
