Well-hollowed, of compressed spherical form with a waisted neck, flat 1730-1780
lip, oval foot ring, delicately carved through thin layers of pale green Well-hollowed, the flattened baluster-shaped bottle with a waisted neck,
and cinnabar lacquer-red overlays, presenting a cat being distracted flat lip, resting upon a carefully finished oval foot ring, the entire body
by two butterflies hovering above a garden with a blooming prunus splashed with swirling patches of bright yellow, red, and subtle blue,
tree, orchids, and rocks, the reverse decorated with a squirrel next to forming a striking contrast against a mostly dark brown background.
a melon borne on leafy tendrils, and basket of additional melons, the 2 1/8in (5.3cm) high
upper right carved with characters probably reading ‘zisun changshou’ $2,500 - 4,000
(longevity and prosperity to the son and grandson).
