The fgure is modelled seated on a chair made of gnarled branches
and lingzhi fungus. He is wearing long foral robes, a guan hat, and
is holding a hu tablet with two hands.

                                                                     The body of the vase is decorated with a continuous scene depicting two
                                                                     milkmaids at work amongst grazing cattle. The neck, rim, and foot are
                                                                     decorated with geometric and ruyi-head bands.

                                                                     The mark Taoyi zhenpin can be translated as “a fne piece of ceramic”.
