carved seated wearing a long owing robe and a scholar’s
hat, his right hand gently stroking his long beard, his left arm
resting on the pierced rock, the ivory patinated to a warm
honey tone to the back

scarf billowing around the neck, holding a small cup in both
hands, the face with gentle smile and the hair in tight knots
around the usnisa, all supported on a circular lotus base;
together with a carved ivory gure of Guanyin

entrance to the Palace of the Moon, built on a jagged rocky
outcrop with an old gnarled pine tree curling up and around the
structure, the ivory stained to a honey tone, wood stand
