                                                                      THANGKA DEPICTING A DRIGUNG LAMA
                                                                      BHUTAN, 19TH CENTURY

                                                                      The centre depicts a Drigung lama seated in dhyanamudra
                                                                      supporting the vase. He has almond-shaped eyes and a serene
                                                                      expression and is dressed in monks’ robes. The upper register
                                                                      shows two further Drigung lamas.

A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF MANJUVAJRA
NEPAL, 18TH CENTURY

The three-headed deity is cast separately from its double-lotus base
and holds his principal arms in varadamudra and before his chest
while the remaining arms radiate around him. He is elaborately
adorned with a faming arched mandorla, jewellery, billowing
scarves and crowns. The base is cast with a bead rim.
