                                                                                    A GREYISH-CELADON AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A
                                                                                    MYTHICAL BEAST
                                                                                    MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY

                                                                                    The beast is carved in a recumbent position with its legs tucked beneath
                                                                                    its body and its fnely incised tail resting upon its haunches. The stone is of
                                                                                    an attractive greyish-celadon tone with dark russet and brownish streaked
                                                                                    inclusions.

A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE ‘MYTHICAL BEAST’ CARVING
17TH-18TH CENTURY

The group is carved to depict a recumbent single horned mythical beast, with
its young curled upon its back. The stone is of a very pale, slightly mottled tone
with some streaked russet inclusions.

                                                                                    A PALE CELADON AND RUSSET JADE ‘DUCK’ WATER DROPPER
                                                                                    QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

                                                                                    The washer is carved in the form of a recumbent duck with its head raised
                                                                                    upwards, hollowed to the back and beak to hold and dispense water. The stone
                                                                                    is of a pale celadon tone with areas of striking reddish-russet inclusions.
