A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE ‘MELON’ GROUP
18TH CENTURY
The stone is naturalistically carved and pierced in the form of three melons
growing from a leafy vine, with a small butterfy resting to one side. The jade
is of a pale milky tone with some minor mottled grey and streaked russet
inclusions.
