A CELADON JADE ‘BUDDHIST LION AND
BROCADE BALL’ RETICULATED PLAQUE
MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The plaque is carved and pierced with three
Buddhist lions encircling a brocade ball tied with
ribbon. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with
some tiny speckled russet inclusions.

The cup has twin openwork handles, one carved with a crane, the other with 5, no.140, p89.
a deer with a lingzhi branch in its mouth. The body is carved in relief with
two stylised seal script characters, dragons and chilong between lappet and 元/明 青玉仿古鶴鹿同春紋雙耳杯
keyfret bands to the rim and base. The stone is of a mottled celadon tone with 來源:美國私人舊藏, 於1960年前購入
