A BLUE-GROUND SUMMER GAUZE
BROCADE DRAGON ROBE, JIFU
LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The robe is woven with gold, blue, green, purple
and yellow threads with nine fve-clawed dragons
in pursuit of faming pearls amidst cloud scrolls,
cranes, shou-roundels and auspicious symbols
above lishui stripes.

The frst robe is decorated with eight four-clawed silvered couched dragons 清十九/二十世紀 青石地服袍及女袍 一組三件
amongst scattered auspicious symbols above foaming waves. The second is
a black fgured silk-ground robe embroidered with fowers, fower baskets,
and auspicious symbols. The third is a blue fgured silk-ground robe similarly
embroidered.
