                                                                                   The midnight blue robe is decorated with scattered foral sprays and
                                                                                   butterfies in satin stitch and Peking Knot. The robe is trimmed and
                                                                                   lined with white fur.

A FORMAL SURCOAT OF BLUE GAUZE SILK FOR THE
FOURTH CIVIL RANK, BUFU
19TH CENTURY

The dark blue gauze coat decorated with a subtle woven shou roundel. The
rank badge is applied with a goose for the Fourth Rank Civil Oficial to the front
and to the reverse.

                                                                                   (1887-1984) to the vendor in 1974.

                                                                                   Ganna Walska was a Polish opera singer and garden enthusiast who
                                                                                   emigrated to America and married six times. In 1926 she purchased the
                                                                                   Duchess of Marlborough’s Fabergé egg ofered by Consuelo Vanderbilt
                                                                                   at a charity auction. It was later acquired by Malcolm Forbes as the frst
                                                                                   Easter egg in his Fabergé egg collection.
