A WHITE JADE ‘TAOTIE’ PLAQUE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The plaque is of quatrefoil lobed form and is carved on both sides with
archaistic taotie motifs, fanked by a pair of rope-form loop handles. The
jade is of an even white tone.

A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE RETICULATED ‘BIRDS AND
FLOWERS’ GROUP
LATE MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The stone is of pebble-form, carved and pierced with birds amongst
prunus fowers and an intricate network of stems. The russet skin of the
jade is cleverly utilised to highlight the prunus.

QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The plaque is carved in low relief to the upper section with two
confronting archaistic dragons above plain sides. The stone is of an
even white tone.
