TWO CELADON JADE CARVINGS OF A MYTHICAL ANIMAL AND A BAT
18TH CENTURY AND LATER
The recumbent mythical animal is carved with a broad snout and beard, with fnely detailed fur markings,
its young clambering onto its back, the stone is of a greenish-white even tone with concentrated areas of
milky white and russet. The bat is depicted resting on a leaf which is carved from the russet area of the
stone.

A CARVED WHITE JADE ‘HORSE’ SNUFF BOTTLE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The bottle is carved in low relief depicting a horse on each side in a continuous
landscape. The stone is of an even milky white tone.
