A CELADON JADE CARVING OF A QILIN
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The recumbent winged qilin is shown with its head turned back,
its face detailed with rounded eyes, curled eyebrows and a broad
snout. Its bushy mane and bifurcated tail are finely combed, its
spine highlighted by ridges. The stone is of a pale celadon tone
with areas of russet inclusions.
