THREE CAST BRONZE MIRRORS
Han dynasty or later
Including two mirrors each cast with a central animal-form boss
surrounded by four mythical beasts cast in high relief within a circular
rib decorated with grapevines, separating a recessed band decorated
with birds; the third designed with two concentric bands of birds
enclosing the center button, all framed by floral scrolls.
3 11/16 to 4 3/16in (9.4 to 10.7cm) diameter (3).

TWO EARLY BRONZES
Han dynasty
Including an oil lamp standing on a spreading foot decorated with lotus
petals and geometric patterns, its drip pan supporting a flattened,
curving handle; the second a tall candle stand rising from a long,
659 waisted support on a splayed foot cast with chilong, the circular drip
pan centered with a stud for attachment.

TWO BRONZE MIRRORS
Han dynasty
The first with two concentric bands surrounding an arched button,
enclosing birds and grapevines, bordered by sloping flanges with
vertical lappets; the second surmounted with a central attachment
boss within lotus petals in a square enclosed by archaic taotie masks
further framed by bands with geometric patterns and waving scrolls.
4 and 4 1/8in (10.2 and 11.8cm) diameter (2).

A LARGE SILVERED-BRONZE MIRROR
Eastern Han Dynasty, 2nd Century BCE
Cast with a central knob surrounded by a cloud motif and four
characters reading 张宜子孫 ‘you and your family will prosper’ within
further abstract nipples enclosed in a band of continuous arcs below a
plain rim and eight semi-circle border.
