parked on Company property. Employees must comply with state and federal law and
any additional or different restrictions which may apply in different locations and job
sites. Employees are responsible for knowing any additional or different laws or
restrictions which may apply at such other locations or job sites.
This policy contains examples of prohibited conduct, and is not all-inclusive. Employees
are responsible to make sure any item they possess is not prohibited by this policy or
applicable law. Jones-Hamilton Co. has the right to prohibit items not specifically
identified as “dangerous weapons” in this policy, and maintains discretion regarding any
objects.
Jones-Hamilton Co. takes reports of violent, threatening and prohibited behavior
seriously. Individuals who engage in violent, threatening, or prohibited behavior may
be removed from the premises, and may be subject to arrest, criminal prosecution and
disciplinary action up to and including termination. This policy does not apply to law
enforcement personnel and security personnel engaging in official duties.
REPORTING VIOLENCE
All employees are responsible for notifying management of any threats that they witness
or receive or that they are told another person witnessed or received. Even without a
specific threat, all employees should report any behavior they have witnessed that they
regard as potentially threatening or violent or that could endanger the health or safety of
an employee or other person when the behavior has been carried out on company
premises, on a company-controlled site, or is connected to Company employment or
Company business.
Employees should promptly inform the Human Resource department of any protective or
restraining order that they have obtained that lists the workplace as a protected area.
Employees are encouraged to report safety concerns with regard to intimate partner or
domestic violence. Jones-Hamilton Co. will not retaliate against employees making good-
faith reports. Jones-Hamilton Co. is committed to supporting victims of intimate partner
violence by providing referrals to Jones-Hamilton Co.’s employee assistance program (EAP)
and community resources and providing time off for reasons related to intimate partner
violence.
Jones-Hamilton Co. will promptly and thoroughly investigate all reports of threats of
violence or incidents of actual violence and of suspicious individuals or activities. The
identity of the individual making a report will be protected as much as possible.
Jones-Hamilton Co. will not retaliate against employees making good-faith reports of
violence, threats or suspicious individuals or activities. In order to maintain workplace
safety and the integrity of its investigation, Jones-Hamilton Co. may suspend
employees suspected of workplace violence or threats of violence, either with or
without pay, pending investigation.
Anyone found to be responsible for threats of or actual violence or other conduct that
is in violation of these guidelines will be subject to disciplinary action up to and
including termination of employment.
