27. Smriti, C. (n.d.). Quality of Work Life: It‘s Meaning and Definition | Employee
                               Management.

The present era is an era of knowledge workers and the society we live in has come into being, to

be known as knowledge society. The intellectual pursuits took precedence over physical exertion.
Work-life quality (WLQ) refers to the favourability or unaffordability of a work atmosphere for
people employed in an organization. A revolutionary change has taken place in the period of

scientific management, which focused solely on specialization and efficiency. Traditional
management (similar to scientific management) paid insufficient attention to human values. In the

present situation the workers' expectations and priorities are changing. Employers are now
redesigning jobs to make QWL better.
