When your focus is on yourself, and the JOB you are doing,
your faith isn’t in Jesus. Your faith needs to be in Jesus,— on how
well He performed — not on you, and how well you perform.
A JOY vs. A JOB
The Old Covenant law DEMANDS from us —
while the New Covenant gospel GIVES to us.
See it this way:
The law demanded what it could not produce —
the gospel produces in us what it does not demand.
Is the Christian life a JOB to you, or is it a JOY you experience?
Don’t forget Paul says that the Kingdom of God is ‘righteousness,
peace and joy in the Holy Spirit’ (Rom 14:17). See the PROCESS of
God: (1) It is the revelation of God’s righteousness in us (which is the
gospel according to Rom 1:16-17). This produces peace and joy in us
by God’s presence. This is a picture of total mental health.
The gospel SOWS good things into us. It sows all the good
things of God into us:
His righteousness,
His peace, . . .
