others – as I have loved you.” Loving is almost totally impossible if we
don’t forgive first.
We’re even told twice in the gospel that God now only forgives us our
sins and wrongs, but he chooses to FORGET them too. God can’t hold
something against us he chooses not to remember. Thus Jesus says,
“Don’t even think that I will accuse you.”
It means finding purpose. Now this may be mixing things up a little, but
some people say we find meaning in life by finding purpose in life. We
all want to be meaningful to ourselves, and to others we are drawn to.
I’ve heard some women testify that they find meaning and purpose in
raising their children and being a good wife. Men often don’t find quite
as much meaning and purpose in this. Maybe we should!
When we’re young, sometimes the meaning of life is in parties, dating,
and other such pleasurable activities. I did a lot of this my first two
years of college. Then I got a letter from the dean saying if my grades
didn’t improve, I wouldn’t be in school next semester.
It doesn’t take most of us long to figure out this is not having meaning.
In the SPIRIT realm, most people want to know if there is really a God at
all, but if there is they want to know more about him – and know him.
Not everyone comes to this higher ground, but many do. Some people
want physical proof, but God doesn’t often operate in this realm. God
does give us meaning and purpose in life, but it is in seeking him, his
Kingdom family, and his ways. When we live in God’s love, and in his
grace, we do come to know our meaning and purpose.
