I discovered something in counseling. I found that most counselors tend

               to look at the FRUIT in a person’s life. Is it ‘good fruit’ or is it ‘bad fruit’?
               Of course, if it’s bad fruit, then the job of the counselor is to provide

               counsel in what to do to correct it and change it.




                                        But to me, this was like beginning
                                            at the wrong end of a scale.

                                         We should begin with the SEED,
                                            that produces ROOTS in us,

                                              that then produce FRUIT.


               If all someone gets is ‘bad input’ like the robot in Short Circuit, they
               sure can’t produce good results. They sure can’t set good goals!


               In my mind, what should be looked at is the SEED that someone is
               feeding on. Is it a healthy good seed, or is it an unhealthy bad seed? –

               like the late-night news?

               Using modern-day thinking of today, is it good dependable news or is it

               ‘fake news’? More and more we can be assured it is ‘fake news.’ It’s
               news that the news and political world leaders want us to believe, and

               so they constantly try to fill our minds with ‘bad input.’

               My dad used to live in Rochester, New York – way up north. He would

               listen to both the American reporting of the news, and then also the
               Canadian reporting of the same news. He’d often say how amazed he

               was of the difference between them. And this was in the 1990s. We
               know it’s much worse today.


               Do we read something inspiring before we go to sleep, or do we watch
               the distressing late-night news?  Remember that our subconscious

               mind never sleeps. As we sleep, it mulls over whatever we have put
               into it. If you don’t think this affects goal-setting, think again!
