        Food & Nutrition Policy

Our policy at Bonnyton house is to ensure that residents are provided with a high standard of meals that will
help each resident maintain a healthy lifestyle. We aim to provide quality, quantity and choice to meet all
taste and dietary needs. Special diets will be discussed on your admission along with your likes and dislikes
and this will be detailed in your care plan.

Our planned menus will provide a variety of choice that will include the recommended five portions of fruit
and vegetables as recommended by the Department of Health.

Fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juices and snacks are available at all times within the home.

Our aim is to ensure that residents are assisted to maintain a weight that remains within a level
recommended by the Malnutrition Advisory Group. To ensure we meet our aim we will, with the residents
approval enter details of their weight and height into the care plans and compare this with the Malnutrition
Universal Screening Tool (MUST). This will be done on an ongoing basis throughout you stay with us.
Where a resident falls out with the recommended parameters we will contact their G.P. or Dietician for
        advice.
