V. How have your parents affected your self-image? How can you improve your self-image?
W. (Men) What did you learn from your Dad to help you become a man?
X. (Women) What did you learn from your Mom to help you become a woman?
VII. Building a godly heritage:
Y. How do you want to mold your children? Describe the characteristics you want them to have as
young adults.
Z. How would you go about teaching them these characteristics?
AA. What do you want to change about how your parents molded you?
BB. Describe the general qualities you desire in a mate in order to help you build a godly heritage.
VIII. Write a personal letter to your future mate. (Maybe you will read this letter to that person someday.)
Tell him (or her) how you are going to improve yourself and what you are committing yourself to in
preparation for your dating and married life together with them. You will want to include areas like
what characteristics you already have and what characteristics you are willing to work on. Tell that
person what kind of a mate you are preparing to be for him (or her). Make some commitments and
promises to him (or her). Be very honest and detailed.
