Psalm 10:14 “But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take
it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.”

Psalm 86:17 “Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to
shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.”

Being a helper also involves supporting her husband. When her
husband is threatened, the wife protects him, stands with him,
and says, “with my help you are going to make it”.

Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom
resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of
the chief princes, came to help me, because I was
detained there with the king of Persia.”

2 Chronicles 14:11 Then Asa called to the LORD his God
and said, “LORD, there is no one like you to help the
powerless against the mighty. Help us, LORD our God,
for we rely on you, and in your name, we have come against this vast army. LORD, you
are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.”

2 Chronicles 25:8 Even if you go and fight courageously in battle, God will overthrow you
before the enemy, for God has the power to help or to overthrow.”

The role of being a helper is a very high calling. The Bible tells us that God the father is our helper.

Hebrews 13:6 “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What
can mere mortals do to me?’”

The Holy Spirit is our helper.

John 16:7 “But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away,
the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.”

               The Son is our Helper.

John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the
                           Father except through me.”

A Biblical principle that is important for us as women to comprehend is that “the greatest is to be the
servant of all”. The call to be a helper is to be more like God.

The Bible gives us some principles for the wife as a helper. The helper of the husband is the wife, because of
God's design. When God has a plan, it is perfect. Remember, husbands and wives have equality of status,
but diversity of roles. Research shows that men do not do as well alone. They don't eat as well, dress as well,
or live as long if they don’t have a wife.

A woman is like man in some ways, is unlike him in other ways, but is suitable for him in all ways. Women
are special. They are intuitive and sensitive. A husband needs his wife. God went to a lot of work to create
