• Don’t counsel the opposite sex.
• The minister must set forth the parameters of his life if he is to be effective.
• Listen to your spouse.
10. Be an Example of Integrity.
• As a minister you must be pure morally and ethically.
• Be a consistent person…the same in private as in public.
“The practice of honesty is more convincing than the profession of holiness.”
Danny Akin
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in
faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
• Integrity is a firm adherence to a code or standard of values. Integrity comprehends the whole moral
character.
• We preach the truth and we must live the truth.
“Integrity evidences itself in ethical soundness, intellectual veracity, and moral excellence. It keeps us from
fearing the white light of close examination and from resisting the scrutiny of accountability. It is honesty at all
cost…rocklike character that won’t crack when standing alone or crumble when pressure mounts.” Charles
Swindoll
“A leader’s commitment to walk with integrity of heart calls for a refusal to allow even minor deviations from
honesty of any kind. It’s a dedication to an “inner-heart lifestyle,” lived in the joy of God’s grace.” George Barna
“Integrity is the point on the compass by which everything else in our lives navigates. It is the center that never
moves around which everything else rotates.” Jimmy Draper
11. Don’t Fall into The Money Trap.
• Be more interested in whether it is God’s will for you to go to a church than you are in your salary and
benefits.
12. You Are a Steward of your Position and Influence.
• Whatever God has brought into your life and ministry, whatever He has allowed you to do, whatever success
you have had, whatever disappointments and failures you may have experienced, all form a tapestry of
experience that you are to share.
• Pour your life into others.
“Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” I Corinthians 4:2
13. Don’t be Surprised by Opposition.
• Some of your greatest pain will come from those who oppose you.
