Mr. Harmon was a zealous member of Kernersville
Moravian Church. He served as superintendent of the
Sunday School and on both the Boards of Elders and
Trustees. For more than 20 years he served as secretary
of Church Council and was a charter member of the
Moravian Band. In his latter years, he and his sister,
Miss Tilla, made a trip around the world.
G. S. (Sol) Coltrane Sr. was born and reared in
Guilford County. He was graduated from Sumner High
School and attended Guilford College. He came to
Forsyth County in 1932 and for 32 years was self-
employed in the grocery business. For the past 10 years
he has been president and manager of Tri-City Real
Estate.
"Sol" has given 24 years to public service. He was
a member of Kernersville's Board of Alderman 1937-43·
