The Jaycettes, an affiliate of the Kernersville Jay-
cees, was organized November 7, 1966 with Mrs. Nor-
man Bennett as president. Mrs. Roger Nelson is presi-
dent for 1971. The purpose of the organization is to ren~
der assistance as needed in various Jaycee and community
projects, and to provide its members with training in
leadership and civic consciousness so as to increase their
usefulness as citizens. J aycettes are always ready to lend
a helping hand with the Heart Fund, the Mother's March,
The Measles Clinic, and the Mental Health Association.

Mrs. Shirley C. McBride, owner and operator of Shirley's Hairstyling,
opened at 127 Church Lane in February, 1968. Operators are Mrs. Rita G.
Moses and Mrs. Connie W. Smith.

Tom Joyce. The Value Shop stocks clothing for the entire family. There are three
locations fo1 your convenience: Kernersville (993-8315); Stanleyville
(377-2509); and Boonville (367-7632). Above are Kitty Cain, Shirley Smith,
Rosalie Clayton and Tom Lewis.
Kernersville Finishing Plant of Burlington Industrial Fabrics Company
is a major source of fabrics for the rubber industry, with emphasis on
tire components and base fabrics for coaters. It is also a major supplier of
nylon fabrics for typewriter and computer ribbons, woven snow fencing
and erosion control fabrics.
