ADEQUATE AND RELEVANT PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE THE
OBJECTIVES
Updating of the BS Fisheries Curriculum
Among the many campuses of Cavite State University, only Naic campus is
offering the BSF program. Being its flagship program, the campus is at its greatest
desire to continuously improve this curriculum especially this time that the
Department of Education is implementing the K-12 program which resulted to
remarkable changes in different program curricula. Moreover, the revision of the
curriculum was done to re-align the subjects of the program in order to better attain
its goals and objectives of producing graduates who are equipped with
multidisciplinary and integrated tools and approaches; and perspectives and values
related to fisheries problems and concerns.
To guide the curriculum revision of the program, two standards were followed:
the draft of CHED Memorandum Order for the new Policies, Standards, and
Guidelines (PSG) for the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries program and the
Procedure on Curriculum Review Development (VPAA-QP-02), which is among the
quality procedures of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) of Cavite State
University.
The draft CHED Memorandum Order on the new PSGs for the BSF program
sets the minimum requirements, program outcomes, and performance indicators.
Meanwhile, since the implementation of the Quality Management System in CvSU,
the quality procedure VPAA-QP-02 serves as the standard system for curriculum
review and development in the university.
