HALFWIT 3: Why is memory so fleeting?
HALFWIT 1: Somehow those clowns were invited.
HALFWIT 2: Luckily we weren’t slighted.
HALFWIT 3: Why must we be so benighted?
HALFWIT 1: Snakes inhibit my volition.
HALFWIT 2: Maybe this is not our mission.
HALFWIT 3: Why are we in this condition?
HALFWIT 1: Look! Another delegation!
HALFWIT 2: This must be their destination
HALFWIT 3: Why not get more information?
(WOMEN enter left)
WOMAN 1: What a drag! I’m getting too old to climb these hills.
And for what, I ask you? To listen to a lot of masculine hot air, that’s
what.
WOMAN 4: I think he’s kind of cute.
WOMAN 2: You would. You don’t think he’s noticed you grunting
and moaning every time you pass his tree?
WOMAN 4: Nasty!
WOMAN 3: Fact is, he doesn’t notice anybody, although he ought to.
He’s old enough to start chasing one of us; if he doesn’t, how can he
expect to fall into our traps?
WOMAN 2: Hey! There’s the cave. And here we have a few prime
specimens, looking like they just lost their tails.
WOMAN 1: Ugh! That type just doesn’t appeal to me. I wish they’d
go one way or the other.
WOMAN 3: You mean—
