Three shadowy human forms rushed into the area. They did not
turn on the room lights, but found their way by flashlight. Slung
across their backs were canvas sacks, dozens of them. The cats,
alarmed by this incursion, started caterwauling. The men tried to
shush them as they drew on heavy leather gloves, but the chorus of
panic grew in intensity. Then the intruders began opening cages,
grabbing cats, and throwing them in sacks in great haste.
