Reason To Sing

                                      ~~~
          The band is made up of some of Nashville’s hottest session
          musicians. I feel spoiled to be playing with them. They sound
          amazing. The rehearsal is a breeze and my adrenaline is pumping
          in anticipation of tonight’s showcase. This is a big deal!
              I am dressed to kill. My black tights and hot pink jacket fit
          me like a glove. My make-up is done to perfection (I do have
          tons of experience after all) and my hair is teased and sprayed
          to the nines.
              The club is packed. Hudson has done a stellar job of filling
          one of the most esteemed rooms in Nashville. There are seven
          representatives from the major record labels including Mr.
          Music  Mogul  himself,  THE  Jimmy  Bowen,  Capitol’s  new
          president.  This guy has worked with huge stars like Frank
          Sinatra, Glen Campbell, Reba McEntire and George Strait.
          He really is the only one making me nervous because I know
          how influential he is. I desperately want to be on that label.
              The band vamps the opening number as I walk out onto
          the  stage. The  lights  hit  me  and  I  am  immediately  blinded.
          Somebody pinch me, please! I’m playing the Bluebird in
          Nashville!
              The set goes exceptionally well.  What a kickass band.
          They bring my show to a whole new level and my singing is
          strong and effortless. I can feel an enormous blast of electricity
          hanging in the air as I soak up the applause after the last song.
          Did this really just happen? I know I did a great job. My bones
          are tingling! The response is mind-blowing. I honestly could
          not be happier.
              I really feel like this could be the beginning of something
          wonderful. The next big step in my career, nailing down an
          international recording contract in the U.S. My dreams are
