            UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE
            BETWEEN DIGITAL AND ANALOG

The term “digital divide” refers to the disparity that exists
between those who have access to reasonably priced
and dependable Internet service and those who do not,
as well as the knowledge and tools necessary to make
full use of such Internet service.

This is a problem in many countries, particularly in rural
areas, where individuals are significantly more likely
to be disconnected from modern technologies than
those living in cities. In addition, the split can be seen
between countries and continents. And it exists between
men and women: In 2020, 62 percent of the world’s
male population used the Internet, but only 57 percent
of the world’s female population did so (International
Telecommunication Union (ITU), 2020). This disparity
between the sexes has been gradually closing over the
            course of the previous decade.

Other forms of digital divides exist in addition to those
that exist between developed and developing countries,
rural and urban people, and men and women. These
            divides include the following:

            1. The Access Gap: This is the most obvious example of
the digital divide. It is a reference to the socioeconomic
gaps that exist between people and the impact that these
variations have on their capacity to buy the devices that
are required to connect to the Internet. In developing
nations, many people do not have enough access to
technology or the Internet, and those who do have it
