If you don’t have a store or office space to use as a mailing
address and you don’t want your residential address to be listed
as part of public record, procuring one of these options for your
business prior to filing your articles of incorporation may be a
good investment.
Once you’ve got your name , your domain name , and your
mailing address , you have everything you need to officially
create your business as a legal entity . Now, what kind of legal
entity will you choose to incorporate?

CHOOSE A BUSINESS STRUCTURE

There are different business “structures” to which different laws
about tax, liability and other matters apply. These different struc-
tures are designed to give different advantages and place
different regulations on businesses of different sizes , with
different numbers of owners and different types of business
activities, etc.
It’s a good idea to do further research about which business
structure will be ideal for your business beyond just reading this
book. Until you have a chance to do that, an extremely brief run-
down of the most common types of business structures for new
business owners is as follows:

Doing Business As. This piece of paper allows you to
do business under a fictional name, such as a pen
name, a performer name, or a business name, without
having to create a separate legal entity for that
