OBTAINING A BUSINESS E-MAIL ADDRESS

Many website hosting packages will offer one or more email
addresses with “@yourbusiness.com” as their domain. This can
be a very good option since it gives your business the air of offi-
cial credibility that comes with having websites hosted at your
            domain name.
You can create email addresses such as “info@yourbusi
            ness.com,” or “yourname@yourbusiness.com,” depending on
what will best suit your customer’s needs and the image you
            want to project.
If you don’t want to pay for “@yourdomain.com” email
addresses, you can also make free email addresses using other
services, such as Gmail or Google Workspace, to serve as the
email address for your business. This looks slightly less profes-
sional since everyone knows that these addresses are free and
anyone can make them, but there is nothing technically or
legally wrong with using such free addresses and they may
            serve your customers just fine.
But whatever you do, don’t go without a business website
and email address. These are likely to be the most common way
customers want to find and communicate with you, so you want
to ensure you have these channels in place as soon as possible!

            OBTAINING BUSINESS LICENSES AND PERMITS

I will be honest here: business licenses can be quite confusing.
This is because different states and even different cities may have
different requirements for what kinds of businesses need what
kinds of licenses. The simplest way to determine what the
requirements for your specific business are probably to search
“what licenses do you need to operate a ______ business in
<insert your city and state here>.”
Almost all cities and states will require businesses with
potential health or financial implications for customers and
employees, such as food-related businesses, businesses involving
