RADICAL LOVE
Please understand the point I am making here: we will always need the
love, care, guidance, and the leading of God. However, as we grow in
maturity, knowing that He is a good God and that in Him we are
completely secure and safe, we will no longer need the same level of
reassurance or the same number of promptings to allay our
uncertainties. We will know Him and trust Him enough to have entered
into His rest.
Our perspective will have changed to the point that it is no longer about
Him just serving our needs, but about us living our lives to fulfil His
desires and wishes. He is Emmanuel—He knows our every need
without us having to tell Him all the time!
We are children of the New Covenant, and our God is faithful. This is
maturity, and this is where His love takes us.
With that in mind, let us move on to the next stage of the Shulamite’s
journey, which, interestingly, is sometimes described as Faltering
Love.
