SESSION 6 : Song of Songs Chapter 2:8-10 (TPT)

rebellious spirit but due to fear. She is not yet ready to surrender her

life completely and is afraid of where following Him may lead her.

The biblical solution to fear is love: “Perfect love casts out all fear” (1

John 4:18, NIV). That is why it is so imperative that we spend quality
time with Jesus and allow Him to saturate us in His love. We cannot

get rid of fear by ourselves—it is a work of the Holy Spirit. But we

          must give Him the time.

The Bible also makes it very clear that Jesus is to be our first love. This

is not because God is some megalomaniac—it is for our own well-
being and protection. In the book of Revelation, Chapter 2, verses 1–7,

the first letter to the churches addresses this issue. It commands that the

supremacy of Christ in our lives must take precedence over every other

persevered. I know that you don’t tolerate evil. You have tested those

who claimed to be apostles and proved they are not, for they were
imposters. I also know how you have bravely endured trials and

persecutions because of my name, yet you have not become
discouraged. But I have this against you: you have abandoned the

passionate love (or first love) you had for me at the beginning. Think
