     RADICAL LOVE
Did you know that the author of the preceding text, King David, spent
most of his exiled life hidden by God in the strongholds of En Gedi?
These strongholds were caves. This particular area is full of them, and
it is pretty feasible to view a cave as a cleft in a rock. The only reason
for David’s safety—and we do well to remember that Saul’s army was
five times bigger than David’s—is that he remained hidden in Christ,
          his Rock.
It is from this Rock alone that our life-source flows.
Exodus 17:1–7 describes the water coming from the rock, and Job 29:6
talks about oil pouring from the rock.
Were you also aware, that as the Israelites left Egypt, the Rock
          accompanied them?
Look at these words from 1 Corinthians 10:3–4 (NIV):
“They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual
drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them,
          and that rock was Christ.”
God is speaking to us, Church. The escalation of evil in the world is
gaining great momentum, and I believe He is exhorting us now more
than ever to dwell deeply in Him, as He alone can give us the strength
to endure, overcome, and remain prisoners of hope in Him. We need to
return to our stronghold—Jesus. (See Zechariah 9:12)
