SESSION 1 : Who is This Shepherd-King?
In light of what has just been said, I would like to share with you a
prophecy that I heard some time ago during the first COVID-19
lockdown, which further substantiates the need for us to allow Jesus to
bring about transformation. The man who spoke it out was Simon
Braker, and he said (I have paraphrased): ‘Man has made plans for the
church, but God has taken this model of church away. We have been
catapulted into a new season. Will we run with this? God is doing
something completely new. It’s a new day.’ He mentioned the word of
God bringing forth new meaning to correspond to the new season we
are in. (God told me exactly the same thing.) He (God) said to me that
in every epoch of Christianity, there is a new revelation to be dug out—
this is why we are here today. God is calling His people to truly know
Him, not just with their minds, because head knowledge will not
suffice. The greatest commandment, according to Jesus in Mark 12:29
NIV, is to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, our souls, our
minds, and our strength. This is a really serious command, and we must
heed it so that we will be ready and prepared for whatever lies ahead.
We need to be so convinced of God's goodness, supremacy, and power
that we will trust Him unconditionally, regardless of the circumstances.
Continuing, He said, ‘God is tenderising His people away from
detached professionalism.’ He then alluded to the above verse from
Psalm 23. Apparently, in the ancient Hebrew Lexicon, the meaning of
‘He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He restores my soul’ can
mean ‘He brings me to the threshing floor to tenderise me.’
