THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL

“Exactly! Now you get it. Now, c’mon—wanna go school
          shopping with me?”

               “Yes!”

Later that day, my family and I went to the shopping centre down
the street. For once, I wasn’t weighed down by thoughts of my

condition. All I could think about was Olivia and me, laughing
together—and my parents, not worrying, not hovering, but simply

enjoying the moment with us. Maybe my day had turned out better after
          all.
