shopping with me?”

Later that day, my family and I went to the shopping centre down
the street. For once, I wasn’t weighed down by thoughts of my
condition. All I could think about was Olivia and me, laughing
together—and my parents, not worrying, not hovering, but simply
enjoying the moment with us. Maybe my day had turned out better after
