CHAPTER 3

          T
he next morning, I ate breakfast with a frown on my face. I

wasn’t having a good day, and I knew it wouldn’t get any
better. My parents asked if I wanted to continue my school

shopping spree, but I didn’t feel like it. Ever since I heard about my
enzyme problem, I haven’t felt like myself.

My little sister, Olivia, came downstairs, jumping up and down like

          a monkey and smiling.
“What’s with the happy attitude?” Mom asked.

“Oh, I didn’t have time to tell you yesterday since you were out
with Dahlia, so I decided to tell you today!” Olivia said, sitting down.

               “What?” Dad asked.

“I got a ticket to Wonderland!!” she replied.
“Oh, really?” Mom asked, not even shocked.

“Yep! And I’m so excited—I finally get to go to a place I’ve
          always wanted to go!”

Olivia had always been begging to go to Wonderland. But my
parents never agreed because we live so far from where Wonderland is,

and they’re always busy trying to get my health better. She even tried

to bribe people for ticket money, but of course, no one fell for it.
“Can I please go this time?” Olivia asked, giving Mom and Dad

          puppy eyes.
