hen we got to the hospital, the doctor, Mr. Donnach,
checked my blood veins, did some pharynx tests, and
told us some good news.
“So, I’ve realized Dahlia’s enzymes are reacting well to our
surgery from last time. I guess you’ve been taking your medication and
Fabrazyme, Dahlia?”
“Uh, yes,” I uttered.
“Um, so… does it mean we won’t be having many appointments,
doctor?” Mom asked.
“Yes, I think so. I mean, I can tell how great Dahlia’s health is, so
appointments should be reduced now.”
“Oh, good!” Mom said happily.
“But there is one issue,” Dr. Donnach added.
“What issue?” Dad asked.
“We’ve been doing tests on her enzymes, and it seems she’s been
having mitral valve prolapses.”
“What’s that?” Mom asked, getting worried.
“It means one of the heart’s doors doesn’t close properly and kind
of pushes the wrong way when the heart beats,” Dr. Donnach answered.
“Oh, but how is that happening?” Dad asked.
“Well, it may be a symptom of Dahlia’s body heating up, or
probably the blood vessels getting weak.”
